The second gate is not the same as the first. Same dark water, same starburst suspended inside resin inside shell inside open silver bezel, but this one has edges. The frame is more angular, more deliberate, the kind of shape that suggests it was built rather than found. The starburst inside reads differently too, smaller dots radiating outward like a signal being sent rather than received.
If No. 1 is a portal you stumble through, No. 2 is one you choose. It hangs on an 18" adjustable silver-tone chain, sits at the collarbone, and has the particular quality of pieces that make people stop mid-sentence to ask about them.
