Four Realms. Twenty-One New Pieces. The Glen Grows.
When I started the Hidden Glen, I thought it would be one little world: a mossy pocket universe where spores glow, mushrooms lean toward the light, and tiny creatures wander between resin and shadow.
I did not expect it to multiply.
I did not expect it to branch.
I definitely did not expect it to become four realms... and counting.
But here we are.
This spring, the Glen opened itself wider than ever before. Let me introduce you to the realms as they exist today.
Hidden Glen — The Original Realm
This is where the Glen began: moss pools, spores, mushrooms, soft green magic, and tiny worlds preserved in resin and glass. Hidden Glen is the forest's heart, the quiet glowing center of everything. The one that started it all and keeps pulling things back toward it.
Cosmic Glen — The Skyward Branch
Cosmic Glen is what happens when the forest remembers it was once stardust. This realm holds lunar relics and orbiting stones, aurora beads that shift color depending on what the light decides to do, and dark drusy planets suspended inside gold rings. It is the Glen's astronomy wing, where moss meets moonlight and the mushrooms have opinions about the constellations.
Vintage Glen — Time-Worn Magic Reborn
Vintage Glen is built from reclaimed pieces I find in antique shops, flea markets, and forgotten drawers. Every piece begins with something that already lived a life before it reached me, a fragment of history ready to be reborn. Vintage lace pressed under resin. Brass gears overtaken by mushrooms. Gold flake scattered across a painted black world. This realm is the Glen's memory chamber, where old beauty wakes up again and decides it has more to say.
Seaside Glen — Drifted Magic and Carried Blessings
Seaside Glen is made from shells that come from two places: shells collected by my friend Ashlea while on the Oregon coast, and shells I have gathered myself over the years. Ashlea brings me pieces of the Pacific every time she visits Oregon. In fact, she is there today. I dropped her at DIA this morning. The shells she carries back hold tide-stories I was not there for, and somehow that makes them more interesting to work with, not less. Together, these shells form a realm shaped by tide offerings, carried-home blessings, and shoreline magic. The western edge of the Glen, where land-magic meets water-magic.
And there may be more
I did not plan for two realms. I definitely did not plan for four. At this point, the Glen is basically writing itself. New materials, new stories, new friendships, new textures: they all seem to open new doors. So who knows how many realms the Glen will eventually hold.
For now, these four feel like a complete little universe. But the Glen has surprised me before.
