This one took its time. A peachy shell forms the base, and inside it: a tiny spiral shell, two coral-colored flowers, golden starburst charms, and a bed of moss, all pressed into resin and held inside a round open bezel with a dotted edge that catches the light like something decorative from another era. It's a lot, in the way a tide pool is a lot, which is to say it rewards looking closely.
The warmth of it is the thing. Peach and coral and gold, the colors the shore goes at the end of the day when it's trying to make a point. It hangs on an 18" adjustable chain and sits just below the collarbone, unhurried and full of small decisions.
From my studio, part of the Seaside Glen series, where the cove keeps its treasures and the resin holds them still. As with all pieces, this one is one of a kind. Once it's gone, it's gone.
