This piece carries a small world inside it. A soft shell opens into a tiny gold frame, and within that frame two miniature mushrooms rise from a bed of moss as if they have been growing there all along. The frame gives the scene a sense of intention, almost like a keepsake someone meant to pass down, held still inside resin so nothing shifts or fades.
The shell has its own gentle pattern, warm and natural, and the gold toned setting around the outside echoes the glow of the frame within. It hangs on an eighteen inch adjustable chain and rests just below the collarbone, quiet and steady, the kind of piece that rewards a closer look.
From my studio, part of the Seaside Glen series, where the shore keeps its treasures and the resin keeps them close. As with all pieces, this one is one of a kind. Once it is gone, it is gone.
