The hollow was small and warm and smelled like copper and old earth. A snail had passed through. Three mushrooms had taken root. The gold stayed because it had nowhere better to be.
This pendant holds that hollow inside a warm metallic resin form, set in an organic irregular bezel that looks like it grew rather than was made. The snail shell and three tiny mushrooms are suspended in copper-gold, quiet and permanent. The chain is adjustable, so it finds its own length. Once it's gone, it's gone.
