The Jeweled Beetle Pendant

A link from a vintage chain became a frame. The frame became a reliquary.

This pendant is built inside an oval bezel formed from a repurposed vintage chain link, filled with resin over a green and blue iridescent background that shifts like a wing in the light. At the center, a detailed sketch of a small beetle, rendered in gold, the kind of illustration that belongs in a field guide from a century ago. The gold-tone setting holds it all, small and precise and a little bit strange.

It pairs naturally with The Naturalist's Loupe, for those who prefer their curiosities to travel in pairs. From my studio, part of the Vintage Glen series, where old things find their way into new arrangements and the beetles have always been worth a closer look. As with all pieces, this one is one of a kind. Once it's gone, it's gone.
