Some things hold light differently. Not because they were made to, but because that is simply what they are.
This pendant is a natural shell, set in silver tone and filled with resin. In ordinary light it is quiet, pale, almost modest. Hold it up to the sun and it blooms pink and yellow from the inside out, the way a tide pool does when the water catches the afternoon just right. At the center, a silver gate and starburst frame the whole scene, as if someone decided the interior of this shell was worth marking, worth protecting, worth looking at twice.
From my studio, part of the Seaside Glen series, where the glen follows the water and the light does what it wants. As with all pieces, this one is one of a kind. Once it's gone, it's gone.
